After earning Freshman All-American honors and posting two top-5 finishes in his three starts as a sophomore at San Diego State, Todd Baek turned professional last January. In just over a year of collegiate golf, he posted a top-10 finish at the NCAA Championship, advanced to the quarterfinals of the U.S. Amateur Public Links and played in the match play portion of the U.S. Amateur. He was one of the highest ranked amateurs in the U.S., and advanced through the first stage of Asian Tour Q-School the week he turned pro.

Baek came to the states by way of South Korea and then New Zealand. He quickly established himself as one of the strongest players on his SDSU team and moved to the top of the team’s stroke average list. His college teammates considered him one of the team’s hardest workers, and he was also a strong student in the classroom. He is the son of Charlie and Stella Baek, and his favorite sport other than golf is basketball.
